The Costco luggage guide 2026 is for anyone planning winter holiday travel who would rather not spend airport prices on a suitcase. Today is October 25, 2026, and bags tend to disappear from the shelves once the travel season gets going. This guide covers five luggage sets one travel site picked from Costco's online reviews, the complaints reviewers raised about each, and what the TSA actually says about locking your bag.

A note on sources. We did not test any luggage. The five sets come from an Islands article by Jessica Stewart dated February 10, 2026, which chose sets under $200 with at least 100 reviews and a rating of four stars or better, then scanned user reviews for pros and cons. It does not say the products were tested, and prices were "at the time of writing," so they are about eight months old. Costco's selection and prices change, so check the website or your warehouse.

Five Sets Under $200, as Reported in February 2026

1. Traveler's Choice Granville II Two-Piece Hardside Spinner Set

  • Listed at $169.99, 4.5 stars, 800+ reviews.

  • 21-inch and 29-inch expandable spinners in navy, gray, or purple. Features include a USB-C port on the carry-on, a wet pouch, and a laundry pocket.

  • Complaint: some reviewers say the carry-on is smaller than expected.

2. Swissgear Two-Piece Hardside Spinner Trunk Set

  • Listed at $199.99, 4.3 stars, 660 reviews.

  • 19-inch carry-on and 26-inch spinner, both expandable, with a 69-liter checked bag, compression panels, and shoe pockets.

  • Complaint: reviewers dispute the listed integrated TSA lock, and several side handles broke.

3. Calpak Evry Eight-Piece Luggage Bundle

  • Listed at $179.99, 4.5 stars, 150+ reviews.

  • 20-inch carry-on and 28-inch suitcase, plus three packing cubes, a luggage tag, a laundry bag, and a shoe bag. Expandable up to 2 inches, with integrated TSA locks.

  • Complaint: the suitcases scratch easily.

4. Lego Expandable Carry-On and Backpack Set

  • Listed at $99.99, 4.7 stars, 300+ reviews.

  • 22-inch expandable carry-on with an integrated TSA lock, plus a backpack, in red, yellow, or blue.

  • Complaint: the backpack is small, and the design reduces storage space. Several reviewers said they found the set cheaper in a store, though no store prices were given.

5. Delsey Paris Accelerate Two-Piece Hardside Spinner Set

  • Listed at $189.99, 4.3 stars, 300+ reviews.

  • 22-inch carry-on and 30-inch suitcase in gray or red, with a scratch-resistant polycarbonate shell, 360-degree spinner wheels, a removable washable lining, and an integrated TSA lock.

  • Complaint: reviewers report scratching and some broken zippers.

Notice the pattern. Every set had a complaint, and scratching, handles, and zippers came up repeatedly. That is normal for budget luggage, and it is worth reading the one- and two-star reviews before you buy. The article's more enthusiastic descriptions, such as calling one set "an incredible bargain," are the writer's opinion and not verified. The article also notes that it may earn a commission on purchases made through its links.

What TSA Says About Locks

If you check a bag, the TSA's guidance is worth knowing:

  • TSA says it worked with several companies to develop "TSA recognized locks" that security officers can open with universal master keys. Note that TSA's page uses the word "recognized," not "approved."

  • The packaging on locks indicates whether TSA can open them.

  • If a checked bag is locked and TSA cannot open it another way, "the locks may have to be cut." TSA says it avoids damaging belongings but is not liable for damage to locked bags that must be opened for security purposes.

  • If an officer opens your bag, a "Notice of Baggage Inspection" is left inside.

The TSA page we read shows no date, so check TSA's current guidance before you travel. If your set lists an "integrated TSA lock," confirm what it is by looking at the lock itself, since reviewers disputed this for one set.

How to Choose a Set

  1. Check your airline's size and weight limits for carry-on and checked bags, since they vary by airline and route. The set sizes above are the article's, not airline-verified.

  2. Match the set to your trips. A big 28 to 30 inch bag is great for a week-long trip and awkward for weekends.

  3. Look at the extras. The Calpak bundle includes packing cubes and bags, while others are just two suitcases.

  4. Test the wheels and handle in the warehouse if the set is on display, since several complaints were about handles and wheels.

  5. Read the lowest-star reviews for the failure you would care about most.

  6. Compare unit value: price per piece, and whether you will use every piece.

  7. Check the coupon book for markdowns, since we cannot confirm sales.

  8. Keep your receipt and register the warranty, if there is one. We did not find Costco's current luggage return or warranty terms in this research, so ask at the membership counter or check the product page.

Common Luggage Mistakes

  • Buying a set that exceeds your airline's checked bag limits.

  • Overpacking an expandable bag and breaking the zipper.

  • Trusting "TSA lock" claims without looking at the lock.

  • Ignoring recurring complaints in reviews.

  • Waiting until the week of departure.

  • Trusting last winter's price.

Why a Costco Luggage Guide 2026 Starts With Your Own Trips

The best luggage is the bag that fits how you travel. Reviews and price tags are a shortlist, but your airline's limits, the way you pack, and the failure you can least afford are the real tests. The best Costco luggage guide 2026 advice is simple: pick two candidates, read the complaints, check the lock and the size, and buy early.
